Report Templates & Settings
Report Templates are packs of Panels that help educate and guide users through common narratives. To use a Report Template in Keen, simply select the template you’d like to use, then customize it to fit your specific reporting needs.
Keen currently provides four predesigned report templates alongside the option to build your own from scratch:
Keen Report Templates

Report Settings
Report Name & Description - by default, the report name and description match that of the selected template but each is editable to align with whatever your brand’s use-case. These are display at the top of your report and in any exported presentation.
Names should be unique within the segment, otherwise, you'll be unable to save. Name duplication is checked across both Active and Archived reports in the segment.
The Base Model defines which model that you’ll be focusing on, and dictates the associated plans that will be available to include in the report downstream. By default, the published model is selected.
Once you’ve defined the base model for a report, it cannot be edited. If you wish to reuse a Report based on information from a different model, an Admin-level user can save your Report as a company template. From there, create a new Report with the new base model selected and the report template selected in Step 2. Learn more here.
Conditional Settings
Default Time Aggregation - dictates the time granularity for all panels with a Time Aggregation option.
Pro Tip: You may also leverage any Custom Date Ranges you’ve set up here.
Default Profitability Metrics - Keen provides ROI metrics across 3 time cuts and 3 profitability levels, for a whopping total of 9 ROI metrics. This comprehensive perspective is vital in understanding (a) when sales lift from an execution will hit your books, and (b) how profitable the execution is when accounting for different types of expenses. However, once you’ve reviewed the available profitability cuts, and aligned with colleagues on which one makes the most sense for your brand to focus on, this setting helps efficiently select the appropriate metric across panels that focus on tactic performance.
Date Range - from within the overall date range of the selected model, you may choose to drill into performance for a specific time period.
ex. I can use a model with data from 2020-2024 to build my Plans, but choose to focus only on 2022 and later in my historical report.
Plans to Compare - based on the selected model, all simulated Plans will populate for selection here. You may choose to compare all, or just a selection.
Default Settings
Once you’ve defined your preferred defaults, any new panels added to the report will adhere to these settings.
At this time, these global settings are not editable retroactively – the best path is to create a new report with new defaults defined. However, editable settings are on our development roadmap!
Build Your Own workflow
Within this workflow, you can select individual panels to include in your report or populate a report with all panels defined in a customized Company Template.
Save As Template
Client Admins can streamline their reporting process by saving a report as a template for use with different models and plans across all segments. To do so, select “Save As Template” from the Actions dropdown from the top right corner of any report.
This will open a save modal. This will allow you to create a new template or update any existing templates you have access to.

Update Existing:
Once saved, it will show as a Company Template in the Build My Own flow.
Duplicate Report
Users of any permission level can duplicate a report, maintaining all selected Settings. To do so, select “Duplicate Report” from the three-dot dropdown on the Reports home page.
